SAMOS ISLAND
Samos belongs to the complex of Northeast Aegean islands and is located very close to the Turkish shore. It is the birthplace of the famous mathematician Pythagoras (after whom the Pythagorean Theorem is named), the philosopher Epicurus and the astronomer Aristarchus (the first known individual to propose that the Earth revolves around the sun). According to the ancient Greek mythology, goddess Hera was also born in Samos.
Discover this enchanting island which is well known for its beautiful beaches with crystal clear waters, the picturesque villages, the lush vegetation with pine trees and fertile valleys, the vineyards, the monasteries, and the archaeological sites that create a magical landscape. Some of the main agricultural products produced on the island are extra virgin olive oil, honey, ouzo, and grapes, including the Muscat grape used to produce the famous sweet Muscat Samos wine.
